FIND A STANDARD. EXPLORE ITS PRACTICE.
Built for North Carolina classrooms. Choose a grade, subject, then an exact standard. This directory currently includes reviewed North Carolina Grade 7 ELA worksheet packets and one Science motion-graph resource. Existing resources for other states also remain available in the resource shop.
Resources provide selected practice, not a complete curriculum or proof of mastery. Similar topics do not establish alignment in another state.
DAILY LEARNING HUB · OCTOBER 24, 2026
On October 20, 2026, Governor Wes Moore announced 23 Maryland Blue Ribbon Schools for 2026–2027, including 12 public schools and 11 Catholic schools recognized for assessment performance and closing achievement gaps. The cohort is larger than last year’s seven honorees, and the schools will be celebrated at the December 8 State Board of Education meeting. Read the Governor’s dated announcement
“Use evidence” becomes more teachable when students can name what the evidence is doing. A detail might define a term, reveal a pattern, show a contrast, establish a cause, or illustrate a change. Naming the move helps learners select evidence with purpose rather than copying the first sentence that looks relevant.
Model with one short passage: state a claim, underline one detail, and finish the sentence “This matters because…” Then ask students to label the relationship between claim and detail. The label does not replace reasoning; it gives students a starting structure for that reasoning.
During independent work, accept aligned ways of showing the connection: a written explanation, oral response, annotated diagram, sentence frame, or assistive-technology response. Keep required accommodations in place and judge the same evidence-to-claim reasoning across formats.
Before students write a full explanation, ask them to label the evidence move: detail, pattern, contrast, cause, change, or quotation. Then prompt, “How does that move support your claim?” The two-step routine makes reasoning visible and easier to coach.
After your child shares an answer, ask what in the text, picture, problem, or experience led to it. Let them point, read aloud, draw, type, or use their usual communication support. Focus on the connection between the clue and the idea, not on producing a long response.
