Grade 4 · English Language Arts — Opinion writing and writing process

An Opinion Built on Information | Grade 4 W.4.1

Develop an opinion with relevant reasons, accurate support, purposeful organization and a related conclusion, then revise and edit the actual piece. This 79-page Grade 4 W.4.1 packet uses one complete ORIGINAL art-display scenario and simulated survey, complete original writing/process models, 30 supplementary MC checks and 30 open-response and writing/process tasks. Five-day guidance, teacher scripts, organizers, drafting/final pages, revision records, complete keys and a performance rubric are included. Both supported opinions are accepted; the scenario is not a real visitor study or published literary reading. The 30 open items mix responses, preparation and writing/process work; they are not 30 full essays or 30 complete projects. Full composition or inquiry evidence is collected at the identified performance tasks. Shared-source notice: The Grade 4 and Grade 5 opinion packets reuse the same original art-display scenario and simulated survey. They provide grade-specific writing instruction and tasks, not different source readings. Each packet is sold separately.

Required materials: Included original scenario, models, organizers, writing pages and selected bank pages; pencils or accessible writing tools and appropriate teacher/peer feedback. No outside book purchase. Use neutral topics and anonymous classroom feedback rather than required personal disclosure. Real-topic transfer requires separately checked information.
