Presenting Claims and Findings | Grade 6 SL.6.4

Organize claims and findings, support central ideas with relevant evidence, and adapt an actual presentation for different contexts and tasks. This 131-page printable packet includes four complete original source cards, five daily targets, teacher scripts and models, blank organizers, 30 four-option questions, 30 open/performance tasks, specific answer guidance, evidence rubrics and deeper inquiry. SL.6.4 and SL.6.5 reuse four original instructional source cards: paper bridges, a classroom museum, a map revision and a display comparison. These are designed simulations, including an explicitly invented report, not published literature or actual classroom findings. The same scenarios also appear in other presentation packets; these are not four exclusive new readings per product.

Required materials: Printable PDF only, planning/communication tools, a trusted listener and observation notes. No prerecorded audio, video, editable slides or recording equipment is bundled. Any added external media need their own suitable permission. Recording and displays are optional.

How this resource helps

Observe actual learner-directed presentations and meaningful adaptations. Plans and correct choices alone do not demonstrate delivery. Audio recording and visual displays are optional enrichment, not scoring requirements. Selected 80-minute core plus distributed practice. Read the full source cards before the core; complete remaining observations in later sessions. Do not attempt all 60 bank items in one sitting. Five targets describe a flexible route, not a mastery deadline. Printable PDF only, planning/communication tools, a trusted listener and observation notes. No prerecorded audio, video, editable slides or recording equipment is bundled. Any added external media need their own suitable permission. Recording and displays are optional. Accessible communication and learner-directed adult operation are supported. If recording, follow school consent/retention rules, use neutral filenames and local storage, and exclude bystanders. No student account, public posting or private disclosure is required. Familiar practice and rephrased diagnostics do not establish unseen transfer; sustained inquiry requires actual learner investigation, not copying a model. Single-teacher classroom use of original Saint Pierre instructional material with your students, including a password-protected classroom platform; do not resell or redistribute original additions. Contact support for team licensing. Retain embedded font notices; no ownership of state standards or ordinary language is claimed. Independent alignment to NC 2017 standards applicable in 2026–27; no DPI endorsement, certified reading band or standardized-test equivalence.
