Notice one good thing
Ages 6+; family journaling with adult support
Purpose
Describe one small, ordinary moment using a detail.
What you need
Your own notebook or a blank sheet of paper.
Try it
Choose a simple moment: enjoying a color, finishing a puzzle or hearing a bird. You may invent a moment instead.
Draw it or write two sentences about it.
Add one detail that helps a reader picture the moment.
Keep the page in your own notebook. Sharing is optional; there is nothing to submit on this website.
Think and discuss
What did you notice?
What detail made the moment stand out?
What small thing would you like to notice tomorrow?
Finish with one thought
Give your page a short title. Leave your name and personal details off anything you choose to share.
Guidance for this journal starter
Accept drawing, dictation or a few words. Avoid asking for names, addresses, school information or private experiences. A child may skip a prompt or choose a fictional moment.
